Social Work Student Erin Huggard ’25 Nominated for George Nahodil Excellence in Peer Mentorship Award

Erin Huggard, senior Social Work student, has been nominated by the Integrated Studies program for the George Nahodil Excellence in Peer Mentorship Award, presented by D.R.E.A.M. (Dreams Realized through Education Aspiration Model) Partnership. Her nomination served as a recognition with her work with the students in the Integrated Studies program.

D.R.E.A.M. Partnership is an organization dedicated to expanding the opportunities for students with intellectual disabilities after high school so they can live their dream. The organization has an established network of colleges and universities in the state of Pennsylvania providing employment focused educational opportunities for students with intellectual disabilities. D.R.E.A.M. Partnership provides scholarships to students attending programs within Pennsylvania, and places great emphasis on the need for peer tutors to enhance the college experience for these students.

The George Nahodil Excellence in Peer Mentorship Award was created in 2024 to honor the advocacy work of George Nahodil. Nahodil was an original board member of D.R.E.A.M. Partnership and has believe in the mission since the organization’s inception.
